Kurin, Bomberman Quest

Telpio (テルピョー, literally Terupyo), also known as Terupyo, is an octopus-like enemy that debuted in Bomberman for the TurboGrafx-16. It was renamed Kurin (クリン), or Kraken, in the Panic Bomber series.

Appearances[]

Bomberman (TG-16)[]

Telpio can pass through Soft Blocks and moves aimlessly. It makes its first appearance in Stage 1-8. It spawns after any power-up is destroyed, or after an exit is bombed. Telpio will harm the player on collision. It takes 1 hit to defeat and yields a score of 1000 points. Its behavior is somewhat similar to Pomori, but it tends to change its direction randomly more often. It also acts similar to Boyon in Bomberman II. It is one of the few enemies that can appear throughout all worlds of the game.

Bomberman II[]

Telpio is green and white-lipped. It moves at a speed of 4 and pursues the player on sight. Telpio's behavior is similar to Onil from the first game. It makes its first appearance in area 1-3. It spawns after any power-up is destroyed, or after an exit is bombed. It takes 1 hit to defeat and yields a score of 200 points.

Bomberman '93[]

Telpio appears in World 8: Techo. It keeps its appearance from Bomberman (TG-16), moves aimlessly, and can pass through Soft Blocks. In addition, 2 of them can be spawned by a bigger and more slower robotic version, Big Telpio, when defeated. Telpio takes 1 hit to defeat and yield a score of 800 points.

Panic Bomber series[]

In these games, Kurin is an easy enemy that requires little strategy. It moves slowly and is not very different in its tactics than Ballom.[1]

Saturn Bomberman[]

They are found in the Tower, in Master Mode. While moving, they chew and blow blue bubblegum. Telpio moves slowly in three tiles before changing direction, and has a bad habit of pursuing Bomberman when he's close. They take 1 hit to defeat and yield a score of 200 points.

Bomberman Quest[]

In Bomberman Quest, Kurin is one of the enemies in the Field Zone. It is not too difficult to defeat, but is smarter than Ballom, as bombs do not attract it. It has 3 HP and yields the Land Mine upon its defeat.[2]
