Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is a crossover fighting game for the Nintendo Switch.
Story[]
In the game, all the fighters are first turned into puppets by Galeem and Dharkon, as well as the rest of the characters who are not playable get turned into spirits, including Bomberman. When the fighters finally got to the villain duo, spoiler alert, they beat Galeem and Dharkon, which are then thrown into the ocean and the heroes and spirits leave and fly away, finally free from their puppet states.
Info: Sakurai stated he wants this to be the Smash where he wants everyone happy and he does succeed, such as bringing Sans and fan favorites like Banjo, Ridley, Pyra and Mythra and King K. Rool and way more. The game is about launching foes and who ever gets the most KOs wins. The game does not include Bomberman, though he is an ace spirit and an assist trophy.

Bomberman Inclusion[]
Bomberman appears in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as an Assist Trophy character. When on the battlefield, Bomberman lays down bombs which he then explodes into cross patterns, similar to most games from the franchise. This deals moderate damage to opponents. This marks Bomberman's first inclusion in a Super Smash Bros. game. At one point there was a unique glitch where if two players chose Isabelle and tried to use the fishing pole on an assist trophy, they would infinitely summon the assist character. This was later patched out.
Bomberman is also featured as a Mii Brawler costume, also available in several colors, to reflect the various iterations of the series, Green, Blue, Red, Black, Aqua, Yellow, Pink, Purple, Orange and Brown.

Trivia[]
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate does not mark the first time Konami, the current owners of the Bomberman franchise, has crossed over into the Super Smash Bros. series. As Snake from Metal Gear Solid was included as a playable fighter in a previous entry in the series, Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
- Snake also returns as a playable fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The crossover with Konami because of this is likely the reason for Bomberman's inclusion.
- Snake has also had a crossover with the Bomberman franchise, as he is included as a playable Bomber in Super Bomberman R.
- This is not the first time Bomberman has had a crossover with a Nintendo franchise. The first being Wario Blast: Featuring Bomberman.
