The Spikes are a type of trap in the Bomberman series.

Description[]

In Bomberman Quest, They deal damages if Bomberman steps on them. The Safety Shoes will allow Bomberman to pass safely through them.

In Bomberman Hero, they are either found on the ground or stuck on the walls, raising and lowering only when the player is close. There are no indications where the spikes are until they show up, so they may suddenly surprise the player if they don't proceed with caution in the areas they appear. The spike deals damages upon contact.

Other variations such as large portions of floors covered by spikes can also be found in some stages. These version doesn't lower and raise and are not hidden, but constantly damage the player upon contact.

In Bomberman DS, they appear in the Battle Stage "Spikes". Spikes lower and raises randomly from one spike tile to another. The players can walk over them freely weither they are raised or lowered, however if the players step on them when they are fully raised, damages will be dealt. Bombs can also be placed over those tiles and even if the spikes are fully raised, this won't trigger their detonation. The bomb blasts will also pass through those tiles.
