Not to be confused with Pettan.

Petan (ペタン, Petan), also known as Flop, is an enemy in the Bomberman series.

Description[]

Super Bomberman 2[]

In Super Bomberman 2, Petan appears on Stage 3. It moves slowly in a straight line until it collides with a block, bomb, or other enemy, at which point it pauses and then chooses a random direction and continues to move. It may choose to reverse directions even if it is not at a dead end. It will harm the player on collision.

When Petan lines up with the player's horizontal or vertical axis and is within 6 tile spaces, it will slide quickly on its stomach toward the player, stopping only if it hits a block, bomb, or another enemy. It takes 1 hit to defeat and yields a score of 100 points.

Panic Bomber[]

In Bomberman: Panic Bomber, it appears in the PCE version only, being the 10th opponent to be fought. Here, it's still a penguin, but it's slightly different.

Super Bomberman 5[]

It reappears in Super Bomberman 5, found in the Zone 2. It takes 1 hit to defeat and yields a score of 100 points.

Trivia[]

  • "Petan" is a Japanese word that roughly means "flop" in English. This refer's to Petan's appearance as a penguin and its belly-sliding attack.
