Munchie Jump, known as Pakupa Jump (パクパジャンプ, Pakupa Janpu) in Japan, is an enemy in Super Bomberman 2.
Description[]
It appears in both Stage 4 and Stage 5, and is the first of the only 2 enemies in the game to appear in more than one stage, the other being Mini Bomber.
Munchie Jump moves slowly in a straight line until it collides with a block, bomb, or other enemy, at which point it pauses and then chooses a random direction and continues to move. It may choose to reverse directions even if it is not at a dead end. It will harm the player on collision.
If Munchie Jump lines up horizontally or vertically with a bomb, and there are no obstacles between them, it will move in the direction of the bomb. If the enemy passes over a bomb, it will eat the bomb, removing it from the field without an detonation. It takes 1 hit to defeat and yields a score of 400 points.
Trivia[]
- Its similar Japanese name, body shape and bomb eating behavior implies that Munchie Jump is related to its cycloptic blue counterpart Pakupa.
- Its Japanese name, "Pakupa Janpu", can be translated to "Pakupa Jump".
- In the art, Munchie Jump leaps very high. But in-game, it doesn't.
- Munchie Jump has a strong resemblance to Pac-Man. Besides, one eats Bombs while the other eats Pac-Dots.
