Melon

Melon (メロン, Meron) is a character in Bombergirl. She was teased in a series of tweets beginning on October 28, and was fully revealed on November 7, 2022.

Description[]

Melon is the child of Princess Melora from the TwinBee series. She descended from the heavens, sensing the sign of evils. She is the galactic goddess idol who governs the peace of the universe and she is also a member of the Pretty Bombers idol group, where she is the self-proclaimed true leader. She is a Blocker.

Basic Abilities[]

Melon is a Blocker bomber girl who can place special blocks that cannot be broken by a single blast, even by other blockers. Use this special block to delay the enemy’s invasion, and recover the HP of allies at once with your powerful recovery skill!

Trivia[]

  • Melon's name comes from the melon fruit and color, referencing her pastel green color theme. Her name is also derived from her mother Melora.
  • According to the comic page where Melora manifests her as a daughter, Melon is a part of her consciousness that acts more or less independently.
  • Melon has the spade (♤) as a symbol, while Momoko has a heart (♡), Prune a diamond (♢), Pine a clover (♧), and Blueberry a joker (⬠), which all allude to respective playing card suits.
  • Melon is the 23rd playable character added to Bombergirl.
  • Melon is the third shortest character in the series, standing above only Shiron and Brass at 126cm tall; moreover, she is the shortest in the Pretty Bombers.
  • Her rod in shape of a bell and the Bell's rainbow color references the Rainbow Bell of the TwinBee series, and also somehow references the Rainbow Bombergirl Event.
  • The character video introduction, is a reference to Detana!! TwinBee and shows a portion of it; the music used is "Beginning of an Adventure" from Pop'n TwinBee: Rainbow Bell Adventures.
  • Melon is voiced by Kikuko Inoue, who also voiced Princess Melora in the TwinBee series.
  • At 4:33 PM Japanese Time on July 24, 2023, a post on the Bombergirl Twitter page announced all at once that Melon, Platinum, Chigusa and Blueberry from Bombergirl Rainbow would be coming to the home version.
