The Hold Bomb (ためボム, Tamebomu, in Japan), also known as the Wide-range Bomb, is a type of bomb that appears in Bomberman Quest and Bomberman Tournament. It gets stronger the longer that it is held.

Bomberman Quest

The Wide-range Bomb is received from Balballoon. The longer that it is held with the Power Glove, the stronger it will become, as indicated by the numbers that appear above it. Its maximum firepower is five. After it has been thrown, when it detonates, the resulting explosion will be wide; its width is determined by its firepower level.[1]

Maximum width explosion in Bomberman Quest

Bomberman Tournament

When the Balloon is taken to a Bomb Shop, the Hold Bomb will be formed. The longer that it is held with ToughGuy, the stronger it will become, as indicated by the numbers that appear above it. Its maximum firepower is five.[2] After it has been thrown, when it detonates, the Fire level of the resulting explosion will be directly determined by its firepower level. This range is added on to Bomberman's current Fire level; thus, the maximum Fire range for a thrown Hold Bomb is ten.

Trivia

  • The Japanese name "Tame" is likely derived from the word "tamekomu", meaning "to save up" or "to amass".
