Gamefurai (ガメフライ, Gamefurai) is a rideable enemy from Super Bomberman 4. It comes from a mechanical Egg.

Description[]

Gamefurai is found in the Modern Era. It moves at a normal pace in a straight line until it collides with a block, bomb, or other enemy, at which point it pauses, chooses a random direction, and then continues to move. It may choose to reverse directions even if it is not at a dead end. It will harm the player on collision.

When Gamefurai lines up horizontally or vertically with a player, and there are no obstacles between them, it will launch as a missile in the direction of that player. Once it collides with an obstacle, such as a wall, bomb, or player, it will detonate. The resulting explosion has a range of 9 Fire. It takes 1 hit to defeat and yields a score of 400 points.

In the first level of this zone, G.I. Boy can be seen riding Gamefurai.

Upon defeat, Gamefurai becomes a mechanical Egg. In Battle Mode, it can be found randomly in Eggs that are uncovered in Soft Blocks.

Riding[]

Players who ride Gamefurai are able to use its missile technique. Firing Gamefurai will destroy it, leaving the player invulnerable for a short time.

Trivia[]

  • Gamefurai along with Dogun Jr., are the only two rideable enemies in Super Bomberman 4 that can be seen riding by other enemies.
  • The name "Gamefurai" comes from the Japanese words "game", sometimes used for "turtle" (kame), and "furai", meaning "fly". Effectively, the name means "Turtle Fly".
