...Courage... hope? What utter nonsense!

Fusell's annoyed response to the Bomberman Bros. after he is defeated prior to his redemption, Super Bomberman R 2

Fusell is the final boss and main antagonist of Super Bomberman R 2.

Description[]

He is the cruel, selfish, arrogant and easily-angered leader of the Lugions and the controller of the Unknown Star. He wants to destroy all planets by collecting all of the Ellonite so he can defeat the Bomberman Bros and the Ellons and that he can rule over everything, or more specifically, destroy the universe with the Ellonite so he can kill himself just like his dead home planet and species. He is also the summoner of Calamity Seed, Spike Quintet and Black Immortal and their Elite forms and Central Monolith. Due to his horrific temper after being turned into the way he is currently at first, he threatens anyone (like the Bomberman Bros. and the Ellon) with violent abuse and monstrous beatings if they attempt to stop his plans.

However, he reveals that he is cursed with all the pain, loneliness and hatred he has in his life, due to an explosion that happened to his original body, and adds that the Ellonite is used for attacking the planets, and also adds that the Ellons can die after using all their energy, creating new Ellons, revealing why he wants to end his life for suicide even if it means to destroy the universe. In addition, he reveals that the Ellonite are the basis to his dead home planet, and after the war resulting in the planet and civilization's extinction due to their greed for the planet's ownership, Fusell was gonna share the same fate as the rest of his planet, but the Lugion connected him to the Ellonite, turning him into what he is now: a tragic madman. Read the quotes for more.

Thankfully, after being told by White that the Lugions and Ellons are now friends as well as creating happy new memories with both species leading to a brighter and happier future via reverting the Lugion to Ellon, which even he never thought about, Fusell reforms as good and has a change of heart, and at the end, Fusell decided to abandon his old goals and left Planet Bomber unharmed.

In the credits, he is reading on how to revert Lugion to Ellon, obviously from Blue Bomber's hypothetical theory.

Attack Patterns[]

Oddly, when fought directly, Fusell has no attack patterns, due to being completely weak. But he can sometimes crash the game in the Switch version.

Trivia[]

  • He bears a strong resemblance to Sigma from Mega Man X, particularly both designed after and inspired primarily by his incarnation in Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X.
  • Unlike Buggler, who is a purely and unequivocally evil villain, Fusell is a morally grey villain who is not completely evil and has redeeming qualities (although he has some darker shades of anger), as he reveals he is the one who created the Lugions and the Ellons.
  • Etymologically, Fusell's name is a portmanteau of the words "fuse" and "cell". The fuse part is also derived from the word "fusion", which is a reference to the scene where Fusell and the Lugions combine into the Black Immortal when the Bomberman Bros. refuse to surrender to him.
    • In addition, Fusell gets his name from the French translation for "rifle". This means that, along with the term "raison d'etre", it's obvious that Fusell is a bit French.
  • Fusell was featured as a playable character in Hill Climb Racing 2, available through a collaboration event with Super Bomberman R 2.
