Joycard 64 Controller

The Joycard 64 is a controller peripheral for the Nintendo 64 produced by Hudson Soft released exclusively in Japan in 1997.

Description[]

It works like a normal N64 controller, with the addition of turbo features for 4 buttons (Start, Z, A, B). Each button features 3 levels, normal, middle, high, determining the turbo pressure for the corresponding button, normal being the standard one.

Aside from that, the pad itself is very similar to the N64 default controller, but the left and right sides of the pad have been considerably shortened. One unique feature of the pad is that it also includes the possibility to adjust the Joystick sensitivity.

Specific uses[]

The pad had two specific uses in the Bomberman Nintendo 64 games. By setting the Start button turbo to middle at the Title Screen, In Bomberman 64, it would unlock the 4 last battle maps (In the Gutter, Sea Sick, Blizzard Battle and Lost at Sea). In Bomberman Hero, it would unlock the Bomber Star. Although they can be done without, by pressing the Start button rapidly instead.
