Esper (エスパー Esupā) is an enemy in the Bomberman series. As its name implies, it is a tan-skinned child with the lower half of its body colored all red that uses telekinetic powers.

Description[]

Super Bomberman 4[]

In Super Bomberman 4, Esper is found in Super Future. It moves at a normal pace in a straight line until it collides with a block, bomb, or other enemy, at which point it pauses, chooses a random direction, and then continues to move. It may choose to reverse directions even if it is not at a dead end. It will harm the player on collision.

If Esper lines up horizontally or vertically with a bomb, and there are no walls or other bombs between them, it will use its telekinetic power to detonate that bomb after a brief moment. While its powers are activated, Esper is invincible. However, it will be rendered powerless for a period of time afterward. If it detects a bomb while powerless, it will run toward the bomb repeatedly in vain until it is destroyed or until it regains its power. It takes 1 hit to defeat and yields a score of 400 points.

Super Bomberman 5[]

In Super Bomberman 5, Esper is found in Zone 4. It does not pause when changing directions, and when it tries to detonate a bomb, it must slowly move a telekinetic ring from its own body to the bomb. It takes 1 hit to defeat and yields a score of 400 points.

Bomberman Portable[]

They reappear in Bomberman Portable, found in Future World. They keep the same appearance, although their behavior is completely different in this game. They now move at fast peace, and tend to pursue the player as soon as they have spotted them, and they don't have their telekinetic power anymore like in the previous appearances. It takes 1 hit to defeat it, and yields a score of 1000 points.
