Dr. Mechado (unofficially referred to as Dr. Mechadoc in the Anime-Kraze fansubs) is one of the minor villains, eventually turned now-major and true antagonist of the Bomberman Jetters anime. Unlike his contemporaries, Dr. Ein or Bagura, this shady mad scientist of unknown origin with a knack for creating machines (like, most infamously, the ten Proto-Max Units) is a lot more ruthless, happily throwing lives of innocents aside if it means accomplishing his greater goals of universal domination.
Biography[]
Not much is known about his past, other than that, he was heavily researching the capabilities of the Bomb Element during his university years. However, one day when said research went on, he leaves to use the bathroom, during which Bagura comes in and uses the research for his own work, not knowing who it belonged to. Bagura was then held in high regard for this instead of Mechado. Since then, Mechado vowed revenge against Bagura for taking his work and secretly plans a devious scheme while acting as a member of the Hige Hige Bandits, revealed in episode 40.
Around the time, Shirobon joins the Jetters after Mighty's untimely disappearance, Mechado launches his greater scheme, albeit in small pieces. Seemingly befriending the Hige Hige Bandits' military commander, Mujoe, he, at one point, creates the Combined Bomberman Making Machine, allowing artificial Bombermen with special abilities can be made from random objects. Despite his apparently meager and helpful appearance, he's often seen coldly watching many of Mujoe's later failures (even when the Combined Bomberman Making Machine is upgraded into the Super Combined Bomberman Making Machine), eventually being revealed that this was all part of a grander scheme.
When Max starts popping up and interrupting many of Mujoe's episodic schemes, one of his Hige Combatants, and later on, Thunder Bomber, become suspicious. Given the often oddly-timed appearances of this mysterious 'bounty hunter' supposedly brought on by Mechado, a conspiracy begins to spread, causing supposed uneasiness within the Hige Hige Bandits.
Apparently, he wants to get the Bomb Crystal that's hidden inside Planet Bomber, and wants to collide it and Planet Jetters together so he can get it and become the god of the whole universe, and even threatens anyone with death, psychological abuse and physical murder should they try and stop him and MAX from achieving their goals. However, this is instantly stopped when White and Mighty's final memories completely stopped and reversed the monstrous effects of his plan, and as Mechado's punishment, he is karmically trapped inside a red gem forever.
