Chameleomen (カメレオメン Kamereomen) is an enemy in Super Bomberman.

Description[]

Chameleomen is found in Stage 3. It moves at a speed of 2, turning at walls and, occasionally, intersections, only changing directions when it collides with a block, bomb, or other enemy. It may choose to reverse directions even if it is not at a dead end. It will harm the player on collision.

Every two to three seconds, Chameleomen will stop moving and transform. If it is in its normal state, it will become a copy of White or Black Bomberman, and vice versa. Its movement pattern remains unchanged and it cannot set bombs, but the appearance of many Bombermen on the screen may cause confusion when two players are present. As a result, players may end up harming each other rather than the enemies. It also gets worse when the code "5656" is activated, (where Bomberman is tiny), and Chameleomen transforms into a tiny copy of White or Black Bomberman, and vice versa. A player who has the Boxing Glove may safely and easily overcome this issue by punching the air to signal his or her position to the other player, or alternatively, place a bomb and let it detonate on Chameleomen, and it will revert to its normal self. It takes 1 hit to defeat and yields a score of 400 points in its normal form, and when it is disguised, it takes 2 hits.
