Not to be confused with Bookworm Green. Bookworm (Gakubon in Japanese) is a member of the Bomber Family and is a playable character in Bomberman '94.
Description[]
Bookworm wears a student uniform and has large, round glasses. He is described as a very diligent character and a "cunning strategist". He has solid offensive and defensive tactics.
Trivia[]
- His Japanese name, Gakubon, is a portmanteau of Gaku, meaning Study, and Bomb.
- The name "Gakubon" was submitted by Atsushi Iwaizumi from Tokyo, Japan.
- An unused idle animation sprite sheets for Bookworm are found in Mega Bomberman's ROM data depicts him reading a book. In addition to that, an unused victory animation is also found in the ROM data has him grabbing his hat before throwing it away, but his hat just disappears. The animation was going to be used in the Mega Drive/Genesis version, but was scrapped upon the game's final release in 1995. As with the other characters in game, he has an unused animation depicting him crying on the floor when losing a round.
