Trivia[]
- The name "Bonsaver" was submitted by Ryuki Kurosawa from Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan.
- In Bomberman '94, Bonsaver's head remains mostly white when he is selected by player three (red) or five (green). In Mega Bomberman, his head matches those players' respective colors.
- While Mega Bomberman was in development, Bonsaver was originally going to hop on a Louie using his rocket boost, in addition to cleaning his face in his idle animation during a match. These animations went unused, but the sprites found in the game's ROM code states that they were going to be used in-game before the final game's release. He is also one of two characters that has the ability to hop on a Louie using their own props, the other being Grampa Bomber, who uses his cane to leap onto a Louie.
- In his artwork, Bonsaver appears to emit electrical discharges, which were not seen in his sprite.
