Bomberman Jetters Vol. 1 is a 2D platformer based on the Bomberman Jetters anime made by Hudson Soft and which was released on mobile phones on April 7, 2003 in Japan.

Gameplay[]

White Bomber (Shirobon) must traverse across 4 stages to defeat the Hige Hige Bandits, with 5 varieties of bomb at his disposal, including the Fire Bomb, Thunder Bomb, Ice Bomb, Wind Bomb and Water Bomb, which may be mandatory to use one of the bombs at specific times to continue progressing through the stage. Shirobon comes with a health gauge, though each stage is played against a timer. Should his health drain to zero or the timer count down, he will lose a life. The high scores are submitted to a national rankings list. Shirobon can also kick bombs and he takes no damage when touching his own explosions.

Rereleases[]

The game was later rereleased for the same support as Bomberman Planet on January 2008 in Japan. Most notable changes were the graphics, which were completely reupdated (background expecially, as well as some boss characters which were completely changed) and also the voice clips are different, but the game and stage layout remains the same. In addition, the Hige Hige Bandits are swapped by the "Puronoaku Gang" in this version.

Notes[]

Although the title screen reads "Vol. 1" this version of the game, no other source refers to it by that name, nor does there appear to be a "Volume 2" edition, however the Bomberman Planet edition seems to feature 3 volumes according to the title screens.
